What are the common goals of the relationship between tutor and refugee?
The relationship between a territorial integration tutor and a refugee is not a traditional helping relationship, like that between an operator and a user. Instead, it serves the following purposes:
1. Promoting intercultural exchange through close proximity, creating meaningful experiences for both parties.2. Providing emotional support during a delicate transition period through a significant interpersonal connection.
3. Facilitating knowledge and understanding of the local territory, including its social, political, and economic dynamics.
4. Ensuring practical social support for aspects of autonomy while serving as a relational reference point in times of need.
5. Showcasing, enhancing, and integrating the beneficiary’s unique characteristics, attitudes, and skills within participatory contexts.
6. Fostering meaningful relationships that become increasingly mutual and balanced over time.
