Work
Working without legality and dignity constitutes a deprivation of rights and an act of exploitation. For this reason, at CIAC, our tools for promoting work autonomy focus not only on the acquisition of specific professional skills to learn a trade or repurpose existing knowledge but also on adopting a holistic approach that emphasizes worker protection, safety, and legality. This includes combating the myriad forms of black-market, gray-market, and exploitative labor practices. Our efforts extend beyond supporting refugees and migrants on their individual paths toward autonomy. We actively collaborate with public and private organizations in the region, including training institutions, employment agencies, companies, and trade unions, to foster a fairer and more inclusive labor market.
