A little bit of CIAC
Since 2001, CIAC has been a hub for developing and testing innovative practices in welcoming, supporting, and protecting migrants and refugees, in close synergy with other public and social entities. Currently it provides housing for approximately 250 forced migrants in apartments distributed across the province, ensuring decentralized and community-based approach.
CIAC offers multidisciplinary assistance to foreign citizens through a network of thirty local branches.
Since 2015, programs fostering coexistence and intercultural relationships between Italians and refugees have been active:
Refugees in the families, Tandem (co-housing shared by young Italians and young refugees) and the territorial tutor for integration.
In December 2019, CIAC inaugurated the Wonderful World House, a sanctuary to welcome migrants who were excluded from traditional support system due to the effects of the Immigration and Security Decrees.
